We will welcome walkers, cyclists, backpackers, island‑hoppers, students, solo travellers, and anyone exploring Scotland’s west coast on a budget. With secure bike storage and hire, easy access to ferries and trains, and a relaxed, down‑to‑earth atmosphere, we will be a natural fit for people travelling light and looking for a sociable, low‑impact place to stay.

Scotland attracts a constant mix of walkers, cyclists, island‑hoppers, students, and budget‑minded travellers — yet most towns have no hostel‑style accommodation available. Most visitors arriving by ferry, train, or bike are looking for simple, affordable places to stay for a night or two, but their only options are hotels and guesthouses that don’t match their budget or travel style. The demand exists — Backpacker Bunkhouse will finally provide the accommodation to meet it. 

We are excited to grow our offering, and we are actively exploring quirky new sites across Scotland’s west coast and islands, focusing on locations with strong ferry and train connections. Our wider aim is to build a network of low‑impact, community‑minded hostels that make it easy for budget conscious travellers and groups to travel around Scotland's most beautiful places without needing a car, camper, or resorting to camping.
